Edward Gillen

30+ years of medical device and point-of-care diagnostics experience. Ed enjoyed a 23-year career at Becton Dickinson (BD) in global leadership roles including WW Senior Director of Strategy & Business Development — Diabetes Care, Global VP/GM — Surgical and Anesthesia Systems ($200M P&L), and Global Business Leader — Vaccine Delivery. Most recently, Ed served as CEO of the start-up Medality Medical. MBA Penn State University.

Bruce Batten Ph.D.

Founder | CSO

30+ years of general management experience at BioRad, Thermo Instruments, CyberOptics, and Advantek. Bruce has served at the C-level in four technology startups, founding two before launching GRIP. He holds a Ph.D. in Anatomy & Cell Biology from the Medical College of Virginia, completed his postdoc at Harvard Medical School, and served on the faculty at Harvard, Tufts, and Ohio State medical schools. Bruce later ran the MBA Program at Augsburg University.

Richard Minicus

CFO

30+ years of experience in M&A, venture capital, and capital markets. Rich spent 21 years in medical technology business development at Becton Dickinson (BD) and Pfizer, and 9 years in commercial and investment banking at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets and JP Morgan. Rich also invested in emerging medical technology and life science companies through BD Ventures and Merrill Lynch Venture Capital. MBA from Harvard Business School, MS in Biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Michael Osterholm Ph.D., MPH

Clinical Advisor

Michael Osterholm is a Regents Professor and McKnight Presidential Endowed Chair in Public Health at the University of Minnesota, where he directs the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) and serves as Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Division of Environmental Health Sciences and other departments. He served as Science Envoy for Health Security for the U.S. Department of State (2018-2019) and sits on numerous global advisory boards on biosecurity, health research, and pandemics.
